I have described two typical projects below that convey an idea of the breadth of work I have done.
Project: Exchange Traded Funds – Set Up an ETF Investment Company
- Define requirements of the custodian bank and mutual fund administrator
- Assist outsourcing of administration of mutual fund to an external investment service provider
- Initiate the process, document and implement interfaces between the ETF investment company, custodian bank, and service provider
- Run integration tests, check and correct deficiencies
- Support process to go live
- New product process: Introduce system to document new asset types for new types of mutual funds
- Function as backup for the head of mutual fund administration & controlling
Project: Expand Mutual Fund Controlling Department
(Profidata Vega/AMIS platform)
- Assess auditor’s requirements
- Define concepts for maintenance of master data, control of investment limits, and a market compliance check
- Present findings to management and auditors
- Implement the concept
- Group leader of middle office (check investment limits, market compliance)
- Expand services to fulfill mutual fund manager’s recommendations
- Combine two groups, identify cost cutting potential, take over mutual fund technology/financial statement departments
